THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE CHECK FOR DURING AN INSPECTION : SEATBELTS

What the heck good are seatbelts in your car…I mean do you ever really NEED them?...I mean, to be more precise, do you really PLAN on having those seatbelts save your life today or tomorrow?...I mean do you get into your car and say to yourself or to your loved one “put your seatbelts on, we’re going to be getting into a head-on accident this trip and I want to make sure we all survive.”

The answer to my silly question (and hopefully you believe it is a silly, stupid question), is “YES, seatbelts are the best darned first line of defense to save your life and the lives of those you love!” It’s GREAT news if they never get used for their primary purpose of saving you and your families lives in the event of an accident and its FANTASTIC news if you do get into an accident and those seatbelts save you or your family from being life-flighted to the hospital!

But what does that have to do with my home inspection?

Well, your home’s “seat belts” are the fire detection & alarm systems. Because 99% of the time the fire alarm system is never actually used/activated does not mean that they are just simply an afterthought…a simple little thing that is mentioned in your inspection report and forgotten.

Fire alarms are the most important thing we check and make recommendations about when we inspect your future home. Fire alarm technology and strategies are something we always check and always educate our customers about because it’s something so misunderstood and something that is, literally, a matter of life and death!
